UNITY WALK FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE! Members of our League participated in the Unity Walk on December 1, to honor the 70th anniversary of the day Mrs. Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her seat on a city bus to a white person. This photo was taken at the Rosa Parks Museum, the site of Mrs. Parks' arrest. Mrs. Parks was deeply committed to voting rights throughout her entire life. Her courage and witness stand as an example for the League as we strive toward our mission to empower voters and defend democracy. Her words are as true today as they were 70 years ago: "We still, today, have a long way to go and we have to continue our work."
